Domestic PROJECTS  2016/2017

  • TREK worked with the largest private forest land owner in British Columbia to develop a landscape fire and fuel management plan.

International PROJECTS 2016/2017

  • TREK worked with Indonesian forest management concession holders operating on Sumatra and Kalimantan.
  • TREK established relationships with the Senior Trade Commissioner and Key Staff at the Canadian Embassy in Jakarta and with the BC Government
  • TREK successfully delivered Incident Command System (ICS) and wildfire training, and operational services to its Indonesian forest company clients.

The operational focus of TREK’s international services has been: fire readiness and preparedness planning; early detection; rapid response; coordination of ground and aerial suppression action. TREK also provides Incident Management Team support services.

  • In addition, TREK has conducted gap analysis and needs assessment, and recommended best management practices for successful integrated fire management programs. TREK has evaluated if clients are in compliance with fire regulations.
  • TREK presented at Indonesia’s Fire Danger Rating System 2017 Workshop and delivered the topics Fire Management Decision-Aids and Standard Operating Procedures. TREK provides workshops and training on the use and practical application of the Fire Danger Rating System.
